The Gun Club - Rock Climbing

Limestone Tingle: numbness in fingers and hands from climbing sharp limestone

Did some cragging at The Gun Club. Located in the La Madre range, it's a small canyon with a short and easy approach. But don't go letting this canyon fool ya! Its limestone walls may be short, but da buggah is super, super sharp! It was fun, very warm, and practically all the Vegas climbers were out there. This nicely bolted sport crag is a good alternative while waiting for the sandstone at Red Rock Canyon to dry out. We climbed in the section with climbs in the 5.6 to 5.10 range. I got an easy lead in on Mini-Gun (5.6), and TR'd the rest of the day. Enjoy a few photos taken of my day climbing the Right (North) Wall of The Gun Club!

Several Barrel Cacti on the wall

Lotsa folks are out enjoying the warm temps and dry rock!
(even Sock Monkey!)

Warm Up Wall, Farley Ledges - Rock Climbing

Nightfall came too quickly!

Veteran's Day might be our last day of New England rock climbing, so Etha and I headed out to Erving, MA and got in an afternoon of both sport leading and trad leading on the Warm Up Wall! So fun climbing and met a lot of super nice folks at the crag. Special "Mahalo" goes out to Josh who let me borrow his stick clip and showed me how to use it!

The Lower Slabs - Rock Climbing

The Lower Slabs
Pawtuckaway State Park
Nottingham, NH

Abbie, Kierstie and I met for a mellow day of top rope climbing at the Lower Slabs. The gate to the Round Pond Road is now open so the approach from the parking area to the Lower Slabs, Lakeside Crag, Upper Cliffs etc is about 5 minutes. We were all set to expect humid conditions with lots of bugs. But surprisingly, the temps were very comfortable and it was hardly buggy due to the mild breezes. We had the crag all to ourselves! Enjoy some photos taken of our day!
